Lost Valley Winter Sports: The 2008 Learn to Ski & Board Program will again be held on Thursdays, starting January 10. This six-week program is limited to students ages 7 to 14 only. Transportation is provided by Hudson bus lines and the pick-up times at the schools are as follows: Middle (2:15), Russell (2:45), Dunn (3:00) and Memorial (3:15). Any skiers age 7 must be accompanied by an adult. Lessons and rentals for skiing/snowboarding as well as lift tickets available. Flyers will be available at the Gray Town office and Newbegin Gym. Registration for this program is by appointment only. Deadline to register is Tuesday, Dec 11. Looking for chaperons for the bus. FMI call Dean at 657-2323. Healthy Hometowns Nordic Skiing: Maine Winter Sports center at Pineland and the Gray Rec Dept will again be offering the after school Nordic Skiing Program. This program is designed to promote a healthy winter lifestyle and the best thing about it is that the children get to take a complete nordic skiing package (skis/poles/boots) home with them for the winter to use. This year there will only be instructional skiing (after school) at Dunn School. Middle School students must be on the ski team to receive their ski package. For more info on this program or to register call Dean at 657-2323. Santa is coming to town: Newbegin Gym, Sunday, December 16 from 2 to 4 pm. Hayrides (2 to 4), children's entertainment (2 to 3), a visit with Santa (3 to 4), Santa's elves will be passing out goodie bags, hot beverages, ice cream and much more. Polaroid photos with Santa for $2. Adult pick-up basketball: Must be 30 years of age to play. Monday nights starting Dec 14 from 7 to 9 p.m. Cost: $2. First 15 signed in play. Newbegin Gym. |
