New Gloucester - Narvie Louise Stevens, 72, was born March 18, 1935, the daughter of Milburn and Dorothy (Strout) Stevens. She graduated from New Gloucester High School in 1953 and went on to Gorham State Teachers College, graduating in 1957. She earned her master's degree at the University of Maine in Orono. She taught kindergarten for 37 years, 10 years in Auburn and 27 in Glastonbury, Connecticut. She moved back to the family home in New Gloucester upon her retirement. Four wonderful and loving brothers survive her: Vincent and Beverly of West Paris, David and Cindy of New Gloucester, Benjamin and Marilyn of Lewiston, and Jonathan and Linda of Rangeley. There are many nieces, aunts and cousins, "The Girls," friends from elementary school and college who were like her sisters and her beloved rag doll cat, Isabelle. A visitation will be held September 29 from noon to 1 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home, 24 Shaker Road, Gray. A memorial service will follow with a committal service at Lower Gloucester Cemetery, officiated by Pastor Dan Michaud. Memorial donations may be made to the New Gloucester Fire-Rescue, P.O.
