Many thanks to our music team for sharing their musical gifts with us last Sunday. Tim Warrow on guitar and voice along with Louanne Doody, Allison Sample and Maggie Topel did a lovely job with the special music. You know by now that most people love to gather with friends to eat and make merry, don't you? Well, United Methodists take this a step further when they host an old-time revival on October 6 from noon to 6 p.m. at Beech Ridge Speedway in Scarborough. There will be plenty of excellent preaching, tables of information, yummy food, soul-inspiring music and folks aplenty. All are welcome to come and join in whether you just come to see old friends or listen to the music and the preaching. If you are searching for the next step in your spiritual journey, come along too, as there will be people there to talk to you and answer your questions. Churches in the area will have tables under the big tent. If you are there, come and look for the Good Shepherd table. We are getting ready in earnest for our Christmas Fair which will be held this year on Saturday, December 1 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Put this date on your calendar now so that you will find space as the year progresses and those dates get filled up. In a new approach to adult studies, our pastor has said that if five to six adults wish to have a class, a leader will be found, so get your thoughts in order and let us know what classes you would like to have at the church. Sunday School has started, but it is not too late to get your child enrolled, as there is always one more space. How about you? Are you feeling the crispness of the air which signifies the changing of the season? Is your spiritual season ready also for a change? Why not come to Good Shepherd on Sunday morning at 10 a.m. to see what we are all about? Perhaps we can help you find your answers. Blessings. |
