Yard and Bake Sale

Friday, noon to 5 p.m. and Saturday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Homeless Animal Rescue Team Shelter, 302 Range Rd. (corner of Rt. 100 and Range Rd.), Cumberland. All proceeds benefit the 100 cats and 50 kittens at the completely volunteer HART cat adoption center and shelter. FMI: 829-4116.

Designing Women Fine Art Show 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Consolidated School, 25 School Street (Route 9), Kennebunkport. $2 donation benefits Graves Library Children's Collection. Fine jewelry, felted goods, pottery, baskets and more.

Quilting Craft Demonstration

Annual Fall Book Sale

9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Gray Public Library, Hancock Street, Gray. Wide assortment of hardcover and paperback books, magazines, records, audio books, music CDs and video tapes. Most paperbacks are 50 cents and most hardcovers one dollar. Proceeds support the programs and activities of the Gray Public Library.

Roast Pork Supper

4:30 to 6 p.m. Minot Center Grange, top of Minot Center Hill. Roast pork, mashed potato, carrots, peas, applesauce, rolls, assorted cakes, coffee, tea, milk and punch. Proceeds used for needed repairs to the grange hall. Adults $7; children under 12 $4; free for children 5 and under.

Lady Dribblers Open House

6:30 p.m. Newbegin Gym, Gray. The Little Lady Dribblers are a non-competitive dribbling performance team, providing half-time entertainment for our local GNG Middle & High School games, Maine & New England colleges and university games, as well as the Harlem Globetrotters and Boston Celtics. No experience necessary. Registration for young ladies in grades 1-5. Coaches and returning dribblers will be on hand to answer questions and show performance video. Personalized uniform, team t-shirt, kneepads, socks and basketball are included in the registration fee of $105. FMI: Stacia Jordan at 428-4466 or Gray Recreation Department at 657-2323.

Public Harvest Supper

5:30 to 7 p.m. Westbrook Eagles, 89 Saco Street, Westbrook. Ham, cabbage, potatoes, squash, turnip, onions, beets, rolls and dessert. Adults $5; children under 12 $2.50.

Annual Book and Bake Sale

Friday 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. (First Dibs for Kids); Sat. 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. New Gloucester Library, sponsored by The Friends of the New Gloucester Library. Children's good used hardcover books will be 25 cents and soft cover books 2/25 cents. The main book room has a wide variety books that are very well priced and organized. DVD and VCR tapes available, along with a table of specially priced books.

Village Coffee House

7:30 p.m. New Gloucester Congregational Church, corner of Rt. 231 and Gloucester Hill Road in the center of the Lower Village. Mountain Avenue, a local band, playing a jambalaya of blues, bluegrass, folk, rock and jazz will perform. Tickets are available at the door. Suggested donations: adults $10 and seniors and children under 12, $5. The Coffee House features local and up-and-coming musical artists the first Saturday of every month. Shaker Village Nature Walks

Leaf Peepers Quilt and Rug Show

Baked Bean Supper

4:30 to 6 p.m. North Pownal United Methodist Church, 851 Lawrence Road. Three kinds of beans, spaghetti, potato salad, coleslaw, pickled beets, biscuits and brownbread, pickles and homemade pies. Adults $6; Children $3. Handicapped accessible.

Red Cross Blood Drive

DAR Meeting

11 a.m., Mary Dillingham Chapter, Marco's Restaurant, 12 Mollison Way, Lewiston. This meeting will be a National Defense Program. Any woman over the age of 18 who can prove a direct bloodline to the Revolutionary War is eligible for membership. FMI Bev Robbins at 577-0706.

Annual Spaghetti Supper

5-7 p.m. following the fire-rescue open house. Gray Public Safety Building, Shaker Road. Sponsored by Gray Fire-Rescue Association. Donation of $6 adults; children 12 and under $4; under 3 free. Family of five or more just $20. Proceeds will go toward the fire department equipment and training funds.

Red Hatters Point Sebago Ladies Luncheon and Fashion Show
