Men's Flag Football - R.B. Allen's Purple Haze hammered last season's runners up Swamp Dawg, 70-33. After cutting the lead to six early in the second half, SD was outscored 39-8 the rest of the way. Quarterback Adam Campbell of PH was impressive, tossing 7 touchdown passes, and Adam Grant was relentless on both offense and defense, scoring 5 touchdowns, including 2 interception returns for scores. SD QB Bill Call threw 3 td passes before sitting the second half with an injury. Pat's Pizza pulled away from Red Dog in the second half, then hung on late for a 32-26 win. Dan Diffin had 3 td receptions and 2 sacks on defense. Red Dog QB John O'Brien threw for 4 scores, including a pair to Chris Driscoll. Defending Champion Dayton Hitmen opened a 20-point halftime lead and cruised to a 65-28 win. Hitmen QB Colby Perkins shined in his debut, tossing 5 td passes and running for 2 more. Matt Obie, QB for YG, had 3 scoring tosses and a td run. Tom Farwell had a spectacular td grab along with an int for YG. The Lightning scored twice in last minute of play to stun the Tailgate Bar Raiders, 25-19. The Lightning trailed 19-12 with 58 seconds to play before QB Eric Gagnon hit for a scoring pass, the 1-pt conversion failed, leaving the score 19-18. Gagnon again drove the Lightning into the end zone, this time a pass to Travis Hubner with 15 seconds to go. Raiders failed to mount the game winning drive. Gagnon of LG finished with 3 td passes and a td run. Raiders QB Jesse Huff fired 3 scoring strikes, including a pair to Lonnie Thomas who also had an int.
