Cheers and Amens were gratefully raised by the congregation with Rev. Merrill's full return to the pulpit this past Sunday. He looked good, spoke with pep and energy, and was thankful to be back. His sermon was on reconciliation, and we all carried the word going out the door to seek out those areas which are unresolved to see if there is something that can be done. Most of you likely are not surprised that the months seem to go by so quickly, so when I tell you to put the date of October 6 on your calendar for the big United Methodist Revival at Beech Ridge Speedway, you will understand why I am reminding you in the middle of September. There will be a tent with tables and many displays, music, preaching, food and just a general great spirit abounding. If you are seeking your way spiritually, this is the place to be as there will be many people around to answer questions and provide guidance for you. Coming up soon after that is the annual Choir Festival on October 21 at the new Cressey Road Church in Gorham. They have just finished or are about to finish the new sanctuary and are anxious to show it off. All are invited to have their hearts and souls lifted by the music. A little further into the future is our Annual Holiday Craft Fair on December 1. Our tables will be full to bursting with crafty things, food and a silent auction. Come and join us to discover those treasures that will be just the perfect gift. And speaking of gifts, why not give yourself the gift of God's Community here at Good Shepherd? You will be welcomed and cared for. Come any Sunday to see what we are all about. There will be a seat for you. Blessings. |
