Sep 07, 2007 "Building a Better Community Through Communication" Vol 36, Number 36

Liz Chandler
Well, nature's novocain is slowly showing evidence of the beginning of the changing of the seasons. Some trees are already displaying small swatches of the heavenly art of our Creator. Soon, the world will be ablaze in the bright, brilliant colors of autumn. I really enjoy watching the seasons change. I especially enjoy watching for the little miracles that accompany the changes.

Remember that our food pantries are ready to receive donations at any time. Canned fruit or vegetables, boxed meals, cereal, paper products, personal care items, water-packed tuna, soups and other non-perishable items are always welcome. Don't forget that the little people always could use diapers. Thank you for your generosity.

Babysitting will resume on Sunday, September 9, during the 10:30 a.m. mass. At least two responsible adults will be with the wee ones at all times. High school students are welcome to obtain community service hours through this beneficial ministry. Heather Maines would welcome a call from you if you feel called to serve our parish in this ministry. Heather may be reached at 657-4425.

Religious Education registration will take place after the masses this weekend. Kathy George will be available in the parish hall to register children and address questions or concerns of the parents. The Religious Education Staff welcomes this opportunity to share faith with youngsters and for all involved to grow in God's love. Kathy may be reached at 657-5659.

Bishop Richard Malone cordially invites all who contribute to public health and safety in Maine to attend a Blue Mass on Sunday, September 16, at 10 a.m. in the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul in Lewiston. All members of EMS, fire, law enforcement and other public safety agencies and their families are welcome. Please attend in your uniform. Reception to follow in the lower level of the Basilica.

Thought for the Day: This life is but the childhood of our immortality. Have a really good week.
