Letters Going To Library The Androscoggin Historical Society has decided to donate a collection of approximately 4,600 letters concerning the early operations of the Androscoggin Mill. They will join similar collections of letters concerning the Bates and Hill Mills at Lewiston Public Library. The letters are addressed to the manager of the mill and cover the period 1860 to 1867. Many of the letters were written by Benjamin Bates or his secretary. The Androscoggin Historical Society operates a museum and library in the County Building on the corner of Court and Turner Streets in Auburn.
