Wayne Edward Dyke GRAY - Wayne Edward Dyke, 62, died August 29, at his home in Gray. He was born September 19, 1944, in Wilton, the son of Guy and Stella Davenport Dyke, and attended schools in the Farmington Area. Wayne thoroughly enjoyed his antique and classic cars (buying and selling over a total of 66 cars and never losing a penny on any vehicle). Wayne's garages are a museum filled with automotive memorabilia, representing his love of the industry. He especially loved his antique gas pumps, which, when lit outside the garages, were there for everyone to admire. Wayne was never without his sidekick, Petey, his Boston Terrier. He married Virginia Heath on October 12, 1963, in New Vineyard, and they made their home in Gray where they raised their two children, Tori and Jody. He was predeceased by his parents, Guy and Stella Dyke, sister Caroleta Dyke; and brothers Roy (Joe) and Guy (Shorty) Dyke. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Virginia (Jinny); a daughter Tori and her husband Terence (Terry) Nadeau of Gray; a son Jody and his wife Lisa Dyke of Raymond; grandchildren Benjamin and Heath Austin of Gray, Andrew and Caitlyn Dyke and step-grandson Zachary Vose of Raymond; brothers Travis (Ted) and his wife Sandra Starbird Dyke of Wilton, and Wallace (Skip) and his wife Erlane of Farmington; a sister Doreen Watson of Gray; sister-in-law, Regina (Ginger) Dyke of Skowhegan; and several nieces and nephews. Service and burial were held on Sepember 3. Memorial donations may be made in Wayne's memory to: The Gray Fire- Rescue, 125 Shaker Road, Gray, Maine 04039. Alton S. Plummer RAYMOND - Alton S. Plummer, 96, of Mountain Road, died Sunday, August 26, at his residence. He was born in Raymond on December 15, 1910, a son of Cyrus and Barbara (Plummer) Plummer. He was a 1928 graduate of Casco High School. Alton was a former member of the Riverside Grange and enjoyed carpentry and gardening. His hobbies included hunting and fishing. He was a pastime firefighter for the town of Raymond when he was younger. Alton was predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Mary Olive Bilodeau. Survivors include four sons, Francis A. and his wife Judy Plummer, Allan S. and his wife Sharon Plummer, John H. and his wife Gayle Plummer, and Greylin E. and his wife Janette Plummer, all of Raymond; four daughters, Barbara O. Godwin of Gray, Carole A. Libby of Gorham, Diane G. Randall of Mechanic Falls, and Elaine B. Walston of Raymond; 19 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great-grandchildren. There will be no visiting hours. A graveside service was held on Tuesday, August 28, at the Mountain Road Cemetery, Mountain Road, Raymond.
