The beautiful Sunday last week brought the Rev. Jim Young out to serve as our guest preacher last Sunday. Rev. Merrill continues to have ups and downs in the course of his recovery although the word is that he is doing well at the moment. Many thanks to Rev. Young for sharing his gifts with us.Maggie Topel did the special music for us with a plaintive and beautiful song of God's love, so we thank Maggie also for her gift that she continues to share with us from time to time. Choir rehearsal has started! Any singers or would-be singers that would like to join in praising God through voice are welcome. We have a dedicated group, but there are always openings for one more. Just show up on Thursday at 7 p.m. Sunday School will be starting soon. We provide a loving environment for your child to learn the Bible stories with dedicated teachers. Grades from kindergarten to high school are available, and you do not have to be a member of Good Shepherd for your child to attend. The time is 8:45 a.m., so stay tuned for the start date and make your plans now. Our prayer shawl ministry continues, and we have openings for knitters. Sara says she is willing to teach you how to knit and show you the pattern she uses for the prayer shawl. Just let me know, and I will put you in touch with Sara. We would love to have you join us as we journey in faith. Still not sure of your next step? Can't find a church home where you fit? You are cordially invited to join us on Sunday morning to see what we are all about. Blessings. |
