This is not the decision of the Friends of the Wildlife Park but of the Maine Inland Fisheries and Wildlife in Augusta. "I am definitely not for this program" says Joe Jones, President of the Friends of the Park, who added, "I feel that the babies (fawns) are one of the biggest attractions at the park." Lisa Kane, the Park's Supervisor explains how the adult males may be heavily sedated, probably by a dart gun, operated on in the field and closely monitored until they are active and awake - if they choose this form of birth control. Kane adds, "Orphan fawns are brought to the park every spring, and will be available to the public to view and enjoy." Joe would really like to hear from anyone who has pro or con opinions on this subject. You can contact him at 657-2304. He can also be found at the park from 8 to 10 a.m. Lisa Kane can be reached at 287-3303. | [an error occurred while processing this directive]
