Ms. Franklin has nearly ten years of experience in the environmental field. She has been a field technician for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, a program coordinator for an international environmental nonprofit based in California, Alaska and Russia, and worked as a lab and research assistant for an environmental technology startup company in South Portland. She is a volunteer water sampler with Presumpscott River Watch and - before moving to Cumberland with her husband and two sons - served for three years on the Cape Elizabeth Conservation Commission. Julie has a master's degree in environmental management from Duke University. Royal River Conservation Trust's roots date back to 1992 when it formed as the Friends of the Royal River. In the spring of 2006, it merged with the Yarmouth Land Trust, the North Yarmouth Land Trust and the New Gloucester Preservation Trust under its new name. The Royal River Conservation Trust's mission is to conserve the natural, historic, scenic and recreational values of the Royal River region for all residents and their visitors. RRCT holds 29 conservation easements and owns four preserves. It is committed to upholding the conservation values of these properties as it builds on its vision to create connected greenways and preserves from Sabbathday Lake to the Sea.
