Feb 02, 2007 "Building a Better Community Through Communication" Vol 36, Number 5

Wendy Bishop

DANVILLE-The Community Service Committe of Danville Junction Grange #65 opened their hall on Sunday, January 21 at 3 p.m. for a meeting with Mayor John Jenkins who was introduced by Ward 4 Councilman, Bruce Bickford. Fifty people were present to discuss concerns and problems within the boundaries of Danville. Members of the Danville community voiced their frustration over Station Road, Black Cat Road, Brown's Crossing Road Bridge, Woodbury Road, lack of a fire crew, mail problems, railroad crossing deficiencies and other issues which was felt have been long ignored. The Mayor's plan for a Spring Cleanup was well received and promises to return our list of concerns to the Auburn Council worshops. It was greeted with applause.

Joyce MacDonald, Franklin McAlister and former councilwoman Donna Rowell were largely respnsible for this opportunity for our citizens to be heard. Light refreshments were furnished by Ladies of the Grange.
