DANVILLE-On Thursday January 11, Danville Junction Grange #65 held a regular meeting with a winter theme for the program.

Applications were accepted and voted on from Chris Gagne and Simone Morin to become members by initiation, and Mitch Thomas to become a member by deinit from Wilson Grange. After considerable discussion, a new set of guidelines was accepted regarding the use of our hall. Contact person is Franklin McAlister in Danville.

Annual dues are now payable, new word was distributed, and yearbooks are now available. the secretary will notify those whose dues are in arears.

Our Christmas project was successful with many wrapped books, toys, and games being presented to Richard Lyle of the Salvation Army. This project of our Community Service Committee was handled by Joyce MacDonald and Franklin McAlister.

Our hall will be used on Sunday, January 21 at 3:00 p.m. for a meeting with Mayor John Jenkins who will listen to the concerns of the residents of Danville only. We are offering our hall as part of our Community Service continuing projects.

A report was given by Shirley Hatch on our successftd public bean supper on Saturday, January 6. Our next supper is on February 3 at 5:00 p.m.

A committee headed by Caroline Coffin is planning a Variety Show on May 12. Anyone interested in helping, suggesting, or performing should contact any Gmnge member. Variety acts, skits, jokes, and whatever, will be welcomed.

The Lecturer's program started with s 'Winter Wonderland'- A reading, 'Falling Snow,'was given by Judy Holbrook. Those present were divided into four groups, given an envelope with Frosty the Snowman puzzle pieces inside. First group to complete the puzzle won snowman notepads. We then sang 'Frosty the Snowman,' and Frosty joined all of us in parading around the hall. Our Frosty, Joyce MacDonald was appropriately attired with her tophat and broom. Great Fun! A word find game on 'Winter' was passed out and the winners were Shirley Hatch, Betty Young, and Judy Holbrook. They each received a handmade Frosty on a sled made by the Lecturer Glenys Ryder.

Silver March Winners were: Francis Steele, Barbara Hardison, Ed MacDonald, Franklin McAlister, Maynard Chapman, Bill Hatch, Lucille Webber, and Roberta Meserve.

Our next meeting is February 8 at 7:00 p.m. and will be Agriculture Night. Closing Song was 'Goodnight Grangers' and the closing Thought was 'A New Year-A New Start'.
