7th & 8th Grade Girls' Travel Basketball Team Tryouts: The 2007 travel season is upon us and its time to get into the gym and play ball. Gray Recreation Department will be sponsoring two travel teams in the Freeport League. Tryouts are mandatory in order to make the team. Should there be special circumstances stopping your child from attending the tryouts, it is critical that we receive a call prior to the tryout. Each team will carry 10-12 players. Parents, remember we need a commitment from you and the player for the duration of the season. After the tryouts are completed we will post the teams (Jan.10) outside the school office. The coach will be in touch with each player to notify them of their first practice. Registration forms will be passed out at the first practice. Basic information about the league will be announced at the tryouts or call the Rec Dept. office at 657-2323. Tryouts will be held at the G-NG Middle School on Tuesday, January 9, from 6-7 P.M. Men's 30 and Over Pickup Basketball: It's back! On Monday, January 8, 30-and-over men's pickup basketball will begin. It will run until March, so don't miss your chance to get back onto the court. Time will be 6:30-8:30 every Monday, including MLK Holiday and President's Day Holiday. Cost is $2.00 per person each week.
