Nov 03, 2006 "Building a Better Community Through Communication" Vol 35, Number 42

There's a place at the Gray Public Library for you!

Lynn Olson, President, Gray Public Library Association

Chief among the purposes and objectives of the Gray Public Library Association is to assist the Library by recruiting, training and supervising volunteers whose efforts will supplement, not replace, the work done by Library staff. Volunteers are most welcome to participate in the fashion and timeframe that best fits each personal preferences.

Support staff efforts with the Maintenance of the Collection such as returning, shelving, processing new and discarding old books and materials;

Help to Prepare for Special Programs such as guest authors, the summer reading program or storytelling;

Work various activities associated with the Used Book Sale such as sorting, shelving, press release preparation, placing signs or manning the sale itself;

Work with the committee Creating the Author's Quilt that will be used for fund raising;

Assist with tasks for the Annual Appeal; and

Participate in other activities to help Educate the Public about the Gray Public Library.

To learn more about volunteering at the Gray Public Library, please stop by the Library during normal business hours; give a call to Priscilla Payne at 892.5758 or Lynn Olson at 657.2203; or send the following information to the GPLA, PO Box 1345, Gray, ME 04039-1345 and someone will contact you shortly.

I look forward to the opportunity to discuss how you can join us!
