Nov 03, 2006 "Building a Better Community Through Communication" Vol 35, Number 42

St. Gregory

Liz Chandler
Tookie and I enjoyed a loving reunion last week upon my return from the hospital. I missed my Big Guy so much that it was not until we were separated that I realized how much I love him in such a short time. He has been sticking to me like glue following me from room to room. Actually I have to be very careful since he tends to rub against my legs when I least expect it. He is my "gentle giant".

If you are aware of a family who might benefit from receiving a Thanksgiving food basket, please inform Msgr Lavoie. With so many budgets stretched so tightly, a helping hand may help with the holiday. It is not too soon to begin looking for bargains at the stores for items to donate for Thanksgiving. Every little bit helps.

It is not too soon to make a resolution not to become so involved in the frantic frenzy of the upcoming holidays that we lose perspective of their true meaning. Preparing is part of the fun, but do not lose sight of the purpose. Let the Holy Spirit be your guide this holiday season.

Just a reminder that babysitting is available in the parish hall during the mass on Sunday. Two responsible adults will be with the wee ones at all times. This ministry allows high school students to fulfill their requirements for community service hours.

If you know of someone who would welcome a seasonal card, please call me at 926-3692. If you furnish me with a name and address, I will take care of the rest. The card will be sent in the name of our parish family.

The rosary is recited every Saturday at 4:00 P.M. just before the beginning of mass. This devotion is a lovely opportunity to honor our Blessed Mother and prepare to receive her son in the Eucharist.

Thought for the Day: No one is more secure than the one who is held in God's hand.

Have a really good week.
