LIONS' SHOW DRAWS 87 VEHICLES

Joe Murray

The Gray/New Gloucester Lions 3rd Annual Car show, held in conjunction with the New Gloucester Community Fair, was a success in spite of the wild and windy weather. Friday's rain and Saturday's wind presented quite a challenge but the show must go on and 87 intrepid car owners were on hand to show their handiwork.

Best of show was won by Roger Atherton of Windham with his mint condition 1928 Dodge. Roger also won first place in the Antiques class. Other winners listed by class were: '50s cars, Don Rioux, Sabattus; '60s cars, Richard Levesque, Sabattus; '70s cars, Irene Thibodeau, Friendship; '80s cars, Thomas Carro, Oxford; '90s-2006 cars, Randy and Paula Mulherin, Limestone; Daily Drivers, Warren Cote, Livermore Falls; Imports, Rick and Jill Strout, Gray; Street Rods, Robert Guenard, Sebago; Corvettes, Don Breton, Mechanic Falls; Mopars, Ron MacGee, Pittston; Mustangs, Tom Wichenbach, Friendship; Camaro/Firebird, Gary Cusson, Auburn; 4X4 Trucks, Bob and Pam Reed, Damariscotta; 2X2 Trucks, Dave Delorey, Jefferson; Special Interest, David Landry, Livermore Falls.

Even though this is officially the "Lions" car show, it would simply not be possible without the terrific support received from area businesses that step up every year with sponsorships. The Lions are sincerely grateful for the support of the following sponsors: Dunn's Auto Supply, Mario's Restaurant, DeGroat's Garage, Quickshift Transmission, J&D Concrete, Hodgeman Frozen Custard, Copp Motors, The #1 Collision Center, Cloutier's Market, Jess & Nic's Restaurant, Cook's Ace Hardware, Whitney Tree Service, Lifetime Auto Care, Greg's Auto Body & Sales, AMVETS Post
